Happy New Year! Here in Southern Connecticut, we’ve just been hit by the Blizzard of 2005. Outside a foot of snow makes everything look fresh and new. That’s what it’s like looking into the New Year. Right now, 2005 is a blank canvas waiting for whatever we chose to write on it. Start planning today and make this your best year ever (Get Going With Goals). While you’re setting your goals for 2005 make sure you evaluate your image (Change Your Clothes, Change Your Life). Are you conveying the right message? Or are you stuck in the past? You might be surprised at how making a few changes can jump start your career. Speaking of change, as far as most of us are concerned “change sucks.” But, like it or not change is part of our lives. Sometimes it’s an unexpected layoff, other times it comes as a promotion. If like most of us you are resistant to change, pick up a copy of this issue’s Spotlight: Who Moved My Cheese? Don’t miss our What’s New section below for more new articles and career advice from our experts. And thanks for your continued support, please help us continue to grow by forwarding The Career Intelligencer to your friends and colleagues. See you next month! It's your life, make the most of it :)

Unfortunately, by March most of our New Year's resolutions will be little more than a memory. But this year can be different. This year you can turn your New Year's resolutions into results. If you're serious about making changes in your life you need to start by setting goals: concrete, measurable goals. Read More |

How to put your best self forward By Diana Pemberton Sikes Can changing how you dress REALLY change your life? We see variations of the story often enough in the movies, in everything from My Fair Lady (1964) to The Princess Diaries (2001), but could such a thing REALLY happen to the average woman on the street?
